Hello!  I hope you all had a restful Thanksgiving Holiday!  I spent the time between Grand Rapids, Detroit, and Howell.  We were on the GO every day.

This week our Reading Street lessons focus around the story Bear Snores On.  A Fantasy story about a bear and hibernation.  Students are also learning the differences between realistic stories and fantasy stories.  Our new letter this week is the letter C.  We are learning that C makes a /k/ sound like at the beginning of cat, carrot and car.  Ask your child to find these examples in their home environment.

Our holiday party is fast approaching and will be held on December 15th from 1:30-2:30.  I will be contacting the parent in charge tomorrow, so look for them to contact you if you have volunteered time or supplies.

A quick reminder that Book Orders are due on Wednesday.  However, I have kept the option open for you to order through December 9th.  There are more options available on line for you to order from.  That is another bonus of ordering online versus from the flyer that comes home.

Enjoy your evening and see you tomorrow!

Hello Families!  I wanted to give you a heads up about a few things.  First off, there is no school next week Wednesday - Friday.  Secondly, we only have one working sink in the classroom and no working drinking fountain.  The parts are on order but could take a while to get here.  In the mean time I would suggest that you send in a water bottle with your child each day.  No juice please.

A great day with The Crew!  We made patterns and played concentration in math.  In Reading we read about baby animals and what they are called.  Ask your Crew member what animal's baby is called a joey.

Remember that book orders are due on the 30th and our online code is H63VQ.  We get free books with every onli

Hello all!  I apologize for the long time between blogs.  Conferences and Halloween are wrapped up and done.  I am beginning to see the light!

We have done a lot in the last two weeks.  We have learned the letters P and S.  We have been practicing our counting and our heart words each and every day.  We LOVE going to the computer lab and learning new skills using the computer.

Among other things we have started new centers with a science and spelling theme.  The students are really enjoying trying out their new skills with their friends.

My focus over the last week and into this week will be to get their binders up and running for parents to take a look at.  I am hoping to have that done by next week.  It is a bigger job than I anticipated and I am working hard to make sure that it is a comprehensive yet easy to understand tool for communication and understanding.

Lastly, there will be no book bags until after Thanksgiving.

Enjoy the
